The Technical Services Department of Nketoana Local Municipality plays a vital role in delivering and maintaining essential infrastructure that supports daily life across the region. Technical Services had endeavoured to provide services in various areas such as Project Implementation, Maintenance of Roads and Stormwater.
Project Management Unit is responsible for the implementation of all MIG Projects and any other infrastructural projects within the Municipality. It also must ensure that the infrastructure is increased, upgraded and maintained properly. The PMU Unit is also responsible for electrification project such as Integrated National Electrification Program (INEP) which include the connections of new infiltered household electricity and maintenance of streetlights.
Electrical and mechanical services this department is responsible for overseeing the supply, distribution, and maintenance of electrical networks, including integrating renewable energy sources. While mechanical manages mechanical systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
Roads and storm water this unit is responsible for regular maintenance and repairs to ensure that roads are safe and durable. And management of drainage systems to prevent flooding and erosion, this includes culverts, bridges, and other infrastructure to manage stormwater runoff.
Water and sanitation are essential components of the Municipal infrastructure to ensure a reliable supply of clean water to residents, regular monitoring of water quality to ensure it meets safety standards. Maintenance of sewerage systems to collect and treat wastewater, treating waste to prevent environmental pollution and protect public health.
